Article Format and Contents
Full Text Submission
Articles submitted to the Anatolian Turkish Journal of Education (ATED) may be written in either Turkish or English. For articles written in Turkish, authors are required to upload both the Turkish and full-text English versions to the submission system after acceptance for publication. These articles will then be published in both languages. Articles submitted in English will be published only in English.

Anonymous Submission Guidelines
Anonymity in Content:
Submitted manuscripts must be anonymized. The full text (including title, main body, footnotes, references, etc.) must not include any author-identifying information such as names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or any other personal identifiers.
File Naming:
The file name must also be anonymized.
Incorrect examples: “John_Paper.docx”, “Smith_Research.docx”
Correct examples: “Full_Paper.docx”, “Manuscript_Review.docx”
Removing Metadata in Word:
To ensure anonymity, follow these steps in Microsoft Word:
Go to File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document
Select "Document Properties and Personal Information" and click Remove All
Then go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options, and uncheck "Add personal information to file properties on save"
Final Check:
Before submitting, verify that your file contains no author-identifying information in its content, file name, or metadata. To ensure anonymity, test the file on another device or user account.
Title Page Requirements
Please prepare a separate title page including the following:

Required Information:
Full name(s) of the author(s)
Institutional affiliation(s) (institution, department, city, country)
Active email address of the corresponding author
ORCID iD (16-digit, if available)
Title:
Should be concise, informative, and reflect the content of the study.
Abstract and Keywords:
Provide a 200–250 word abstract summarizing the aim, methods, participants, significance, and findings of the study. Include 3–5 keywords or key phrases, capitalizing only the first letter of each.
General Formatting Guidelines
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt (including titles)
Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
Alignment: Justified text, single-column format
Spacing: Single line spacing within paragraphs; one blank line between paragraphs
Paragraph Indentation: 1 cm
Headings:
Main headings in bold, 12 pt, aligned left, with 1 cm indentation; only the first letters capitalized (excluding conjunctions/prepositions)
Subheadings in bold italics, same capitalization rule; no hierarchical numbering
Avoid footnotes or endnotes unless essential. Use APA 7 citation style. If footnotes are used, they must be in 8 pt Times New Roman.
Text Emphasis:
Use quotation marks (" ") or italics for emphasis; do not use bold within the main text.
In-Text Lists:
Should be horizontal using Roman numerals [(i), (ii), etc.], not vertical or numeric.
Direct Quotations:
Should be indented by 1 cm, in 10 pt font, not italicized.
Abstract Formatting
Font: Times New Roman, 10 pt
Spacing: Single
Alignment: Justified
Length: 200–250 words
Keywords: 3–5 terms; only the first letter of each word capitalized
Content: Should cover the study’s aim, methodology, participants, significance, and key findings. Do not include quotations.
Main Text Structure
Research articles (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods) should include the following sections:
Introduction:
May include the theoretical/conceptual framework, literature review, research problem, and aim/questions. Should not contain subheadings.
Method:
Include research design (e.g., cross-sectional, survey, ethnographic), sample, participants, data collection tools/methods, analysis techniques, validity, reliability, and ethical considerations.
Results:
Present findings using narrative, tables, and/or figures. Focus on clarity and relevance.
Discussion/Conclusion:
Interpret findings in light of the literature, reflect on implications for policy, practice, and future research.
Other submission types may vary slightly but should remain concise and organized without excessive subheadings.
Tables and Figures
Must be inserted within the main text, not submitted as separate files
Tables must be editable (not images); figures may be inserted as image files
Formatting:
Spacing before/after: 0 pt; single line spacing
Align tables/figures to the left; disable text wrapping
Numbering: “Table 1”, “Figure 1” in bold, 12 pt Times New Roman; captions in regular font
Citations and References
All in-text citations and references must follow the guidelines in the APA (7th Edition) Publication Manual.
